Highly anticipated by fans of role-playing and action games, the new creation of the Japanese studio FromSoftware has generated an incredible amount of excitement since its release. Justified because “Elden Ring” is sublime and captivating. Attention, masterpiece.
Elden Ring has been critically acclaimed since its release on February 25. In a few days, it has even become one of the best rated titles on metacritic, the reference site for video game ratings.
It must be said that its universe is fascinating. The result of a collaboration between video game creator Hidetaka Miyazaki and writer George R. R. Martin (Game Of Thrones), Elden Ring stood out from its first trailer.
With its vast expanses, its sharp-pointed castles nestled on rocky peaks and its areas where magic is king, the between-Earth is fascinating. And this is where the great strength of Elden Ring lies. This open world, the first of its kind for FromSoftware’s games, encourages exploration. Moving from one area to another is not difficult, right from the start of the game. You love to get lost in the vastness of the map

"Elden Ring" is not a movie
If the landscapes of “Elden Ring” recall the Nordic Valhalla or the northern world of Westeros from “Game of Thrones“, they reveal the contribution of George R.R. Martin, who limited himself to that of a consultant for the creation of the game universe.
The project leader is Hidetaka Miyazaki, who despite his name has nothing to do with the director of “Chihiro’s journey”. This Miyazaki is the centerpiece of the video game developer FromSoftware and the creator of such landmark titles as “Bloodborne”, “Sekiro” and, above all, the “Dark Souls” saga. These action games set in medieval fantasy worlds have given birth to a genre called “souls-like”.

Open World Magic
The Dark Souls series has given us some of the best environments in the history of the gaming industry. From Software studio created nested environments that left us stunned at how precise and awesome they are. This is a little different with Elden Ring, where the studio decided for the first time in its history to design a completely open world, and believe me when I tell you that this is one of the best open worlds you will see in your life!
As I mentioned in my story, Elden Ring has 6 major regions/kingdoms, and each of them is divided into a set of regions. The Limgrave, for example, is divided into the Eastern Limgrave, Western Limgrave, and Weeping Peninsula. Each of the mentioned areas has a set of caves and tombs that can be explored, and each of them will offer you to face a powerful boss and some puzzles that you will solve to reach the end of the cave and get powerful equipment.
Every major kingdom in the game world has a so-called Legacy Dungeon, these are the areas where you’ll find the main story bosses, and it’s designed in the same way as the Dark Souls trilogy where you’ll find enclosed, overlapping areas with Shortcuts to help you navigate quickly and easily.
Wandering in the world of Elden Ring is the essence of your enjoyment.
Since the world of Elden Ring is gigantic, the game offers you a beast that you can ride and move from one area to another very quickly. This beast is Torrent and he is your friend who will stay by your side and help you in all your adventures. Torrent is not only useful for navigating long distances, but also has a great role to play against the bosses that you will find in the open world. Although the world of Elden Ring is beautiful and magical, it is very dangerous at the same time, and you will always find yourself facing many powerful enemies. Any boss you will meet in the open world you will be able to fight while you are on the back of Torrent, making it a unique confrontation. Speaking of bosses, Elden Ring offers the best enemy design in From Software’s history. The bosses here are very strong and have a range of powerful and unexpected moves. What also helps this is the gigantic development of artificial intelligence, where every enemy or leader is anticipating your strikes, which makes the overall experience difficult and makes the confrontations more enjoyable.
Graphics, acoustics and technical performance by Elden Ring
Best voice acting and soundtrack
As usual, I don’t have any negative comments about the voice and acting performance of the various characters. From Software is a studio that carefully selects the actors for their games, and the story of the plot of Elden Ring and George R.R. shines through. I’m going to talk to St. Martin’s with these giant actors who were involved in the game. As I mentioned earlier, there are a huge amount of characters in Elden Ring, and each one of them has a story that you want to tell. In some games, you’ll get bored, especially if the dubbing is weak or imperceptible, but you’ll want to talk to every character in the game world because you’ll enjoy every word they say!
Stunning graphics
In terms of graphics, Elden Ring is based on the same engine that all of From Software’s games have been built on since the release of Demon’s Souls in 2009, but Elden Ring has a graphical and technical development never seen in any of their previous games. Although we tested the game primarily on the PlayStation 4, it had a high level of graphics on the platform and far surpassed the studio’s last game, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. The game has a wide variety of environments that have a completely different graphic design than other environments. Each of the 6 main regions has its own character, and the graphics reflect that.
The lip movement of all characters is now more realistic, especially in the movie scenes, which are considered the best cinematic scenes designed by the studio in its history. These scenes convey the development and feelings of the characters in a distinctly dramatic way and make you feel as if you are facing more powerful bosses and battles than ever before.
The game’s graphics will undergo a technical jump after launch, as studio From Software has confirmed plans to add ray-tracing technology on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. The studio hasn’t determined what ray-tracing technology will be added, so it’s unclear if it will be in lighting, shadows or reflections. But whatever it is, Elden Ring will be much better and cooler in the near future
